  
Other than the other locations dealt with on the other pages in this section of the Go Matilda website there are several other popular destinations for people and businesses heading for Australia. Here we include (and of course this is by no means a complete list) Canberra in the ACT, Hobart in Tasmania, Darwin in the Northern Territories, and the regional cities of Geelong (Victoria), Newcastle and Wollongong (both in New South Wales).
Except for Newcastle and Wollongong all of these locations are considered regional or designated for the purposes of the regional visas that are available under the skilled and business skills categories, and as the Commonwealth and State/Territory Governments of Australia are keen to encourage people to settle outside the main State capitals it is usually the case that visa requirements are relaxed if you migrate to one of the above locations as compared with State capitals such as Sydney, Brisbane, or Perth.
